Are Women Stereotyped For Loving Jewelry?

A lot of men when they are looking for a way to surprise the women in their life, will automatically consider buying a piece of jewelry for them. However, there is a stereotype that surrounds this practice that is actually untrue to many women both young and old. For example, there are a lot of men in this world that love getting jewelry just as much as women do.

It is quiet humorous how society has seemed to put a stereotype on women and jewelry. However, men always seem to believe that in order to please a woman that they need to be draped in the finest jewelry that money can buy. Even though most women adore the thought of obtaining an eternity ring, the honest truth is not all women are especially fond of jewelry as society deems them to be.

Modern day women may wear jewelry for a variety of different reasons. It is not a crime to have a love for jewelry, but there are no stipulations that state that all women must wear it either. However, generally there are two basic types of jewelry that women will choose to wear on a daily basis.

The two most common pieces of jewelry that you will generally see a woman adorning is her antique engagement ring as well as her wedding band. These jewelry pieces can be elaborate, however they can also be subtle.

Do not get confused, there are women that elect to bathe themselves in the finest gold, silver and platinum jewelry that they can find. For the most part, a lot of women love getting jewelry from their significant others, but society proclaims that all women are basically gold diggers that want to wear an extensive amount of jewelry in order to showcases their wealth. This assumption is not always true for all women.

For instance, a woman may choose to wear antique engagement rings simply because they mean something special to her. They do not always choose to wear these rings in order to show those around them that they are wealthy. There are many reasons women may elect to wear jewelry, however the most prominent reason why a woman wears a piece of jewelry is because it was given to them by someone that they care about.

In fact, a lot of studies have shown that there are a lot more women that only wear one or two rings than there are women that bathe themselves in precious jewels. Women choose to wear jewelry because people keep buying it for them. They adorn it as a sign of respect to the person that obtained the luxurious piece for them, or as a sign of their devotion to another human being.

Simply stereotyping a person is wrong, however the judging of others is something that is considered to be human nature. Hopefully, one day this whole stereotypical thing can change, but that day is definitely not today.
